Director General of Ukrainian Geological Survey Roman Opimakh together with Ukrainian mining companies presented the mineral potential of Ukraine at the Ukraine Recovery Conference.
The world’s transition to green energy needs to secure supply chains because the current demand for leading-edge technologies will put immense pressure on the sources of supply. Ukraine’s critical minerals sector is uniquely positioned to meet this growing consumption.
Ukraine’s resource potential for green technology is one of the richest in the world. Deposits of 24 out of the EU’s 34 critical minerals are concentrated in Ukraine. On top of that, Ukraine is among the top 10 producing countries for titanium, zirconium, graphite, and manganese, and also has proven reserves of metals such as lithium, beryllium, rare earth elements and nickel.
