The Director General of the UGS, Oleh Hotsynets, held a working meeting with Kerstin Jorna, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), on the sidelines of the EU High-Level Conference on Raw Materials Policy. The parties discussed the next steps in implementing the Memorandum of Strategic Partnership on Critical Raw Materials between Ukraine and the EU and the intensification of joint projects in the field of critical raw materials. Particular attention was given to the preparation of Roadmap outlining priority areas for cooperation for 2025–2026.

Oleh Hotsynets emphasised the importance of cooperation with the European Union, particularly under the Memorandum, noting that it will deepen Ukraine’s integration into the European economic space and ensure shared energy security.

In turn, Kerstin Jorna confirmed the European Commission’s readiness to continue supporting Ukraine on its path toward European integration. She stressed the importance of economic sectoral integration, particularly in the extractive industry, which is key to ensuring sustainable development and energy security for the EU.

Both sides agreed to continue working-level contacts between the UGS and the relevant Directorate-General of the European Commission to develop further steps for establishing supply chains and processing of critical raw materials.
