Ukraine and Germany are exploring opportunities for cooperation in subsoil use

Participants discussed regulatory changes in sectoral legislation, partnership development in the field of mineral resources, and investment opportunities for German businesses. The Director General of the Ukrainian Geological Survey (UGS), Oleh Hotsynets, together with the Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, Yehor Perelyhin, held a working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine, led by Maximilian Tonner. The meeting also included Pavlo Bovsunyvskyi, Acting Director General of SRDE “Geoinform of Ukraine,” and Vadym Reshetnyak, Deputy Head of the UGS for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitisation.

Oleh Hotsynets expressed gratitude to the German side for its solidarity with the Ukrainian people in countering russian aggression and presented Ukraine’s resource potential and briefed participants on key legislative changes aimed at creating transparent and convenient conditions for investors.

German partners expressed interest from their business community in developing Ukrainian subsoil resources and inquired about the terms for obtaining access. Discussion focused on the mechanism for conducting electronic auctions and production-sharing agreements, as well as access to geological information.

Both sides emphasised the importance of German-Ukrainian partnership. They agreed to continue the dialogue and explore potential avenues for cooperation within investment programs.
